Introducing Our Patron…….
We are delighted to welcome Kerry Godliman as our patron. Kerry told us, on accepting the role:
“I’m very happy to be asked to be patron for this wonderful charity. The value and comfort the Chemogiftbags provide for ladies and gents receiving chemotherapy is such a simple and kind gesture. They offer a reminder that friendship and comfort are what’s needed to support people through their treatment and time of need.”
I am a person that is always striving for the best at whatever I can do and have lots of determination. Helping others is what I do best, and I will continue to do so wherever possible. Animals will always have a special place in my heart, especially dogs, and over the years I have rescued 5 English Bull Terriers. They are renowned for their stubbornness and I love that in them.
Hoping to continue my travels with my Partner, when we can, and visit new places on our adventures. Love meeting people from all walks of like, different nationalities and cultures, and if that means there is a chance of a social gathering then that’s a plus for me.
At 68 I am still a big bike fanatic and used to enter ‘side car motto cross’ as a side car passenger. My enthusiasm for this sport is definitely still there, but sadly the old bones won’t allow me to participate anymore so now I watch from the side lines. I am retired now but will always keep myself busy.
Being a Trustee has given me many opportunities to meet people from varied backgrounds and careers and do things I would never have done, had this position not come along. I have met some interesting people over the years and even delivered Chemogiftbags myself, made up the bags, work in the warehouse and even participated in a video shoot.
I am looking forward to being even more involved in the months ahead, supporting this wonderful charity in whatever way I can.
I’ve been a Healthcare industry executive for over 30 years and had the privilege of working on many important innovations in numerous disease areas, on a global basis, having lived and worked in many countries. I hold degrees in Biochemistry, Marketing and Business Studies. I’m an elected Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) as well as holding Fellowship of the Higher Education Authority (HEA) amongst other memberships and honours. I am also an Educator, Industry speaker and a Mentor for a few institutions. In my spare time, I enjoy amongst other things playing various sports, still trying to improve my guitar skills and learning new things.
I have been involved in a number of charitable causes but I wanted a more formal association whilst I still continue with my career. Being a Trustee for Chemogiftbags is a real privilege, for me. I feel that the Charity provides a real need to people who are suffering this unfortunate condition and it does this in very caring, understanding and supportive way always putting the needs of patients above all else. It’s a real pleasure to be part of a team who go to tremendous lengths to help.
